To ensure that Android Auto users have a consistent and reliable experience, Google requires that all head units (HUs) that are certified for Android Auto meet a set of specific requirements. 

This guide provides the actions needed to certify a head unit (HU) for Android Auto. The guide is divided into the following sections:

· Determine the Receiver Library version

· Determine the PDK components versions

· Determine the certification templates and certifying your HU for Android Auto

Google is committed to continually improving the quality and user experience of Android Auto. As part of this commitment, Google regularly releases new versions of the AAP Receiver Library, which contain new features and improvements that make Android Auto even more powerful and versatile.

To ensure that users receive the latest Android Auto features and the best possible experience, Google strongly recommends that partners upgrade to the latest Receiver Library version no later than 12 months after the release becomes available. In addition, partners MUST NOT use unsupported Receiver Library versions beyond their end-of-life (EOL) date at GreenLight submission unless they receive written approval from Google.
